Freelancing: hours, invoices and the clients who forget

Log time by texting, keep one table of invoices, get reminded when a payment is late — from the same chat where you take notes on calls.

Freelancing is three lists that drift apart: what you did, what you billed, what got paid. Keep all three as tables you talk to, and the drift stops.

Logging as you go

“3h for Acme today, API design” — a row in hours. “Sent Acme invoice #42, €2,400, due in 30 days” — a row in invoices, plus a reminder on the due date.

Month end

“Hours per client this month” gives you the numbers to invoice. “Unpaid invoices older than 30 days” gives you the list to chase, and “remind me Monday to chase them” schedules it.

One message, three things done
  1. Remind me to call the dentist tomorrow at 3pm, and add a task to send the invoice to Acme by Friday

    via Telegram
  2. Done — one reminder, one task.

Call notes that turn into work

Notes from a client call become tasks with one sentence — and stay linked to the note so the context is one tap away.

Questions

Can it generate the invoice PDF?

Not yet. It keeps the record — client, amount, sent date, due date, paid date — and reminds you. You send the invoice from whatever you use today.

How do I log time?

Text it: “3 hours for Acme, API design.” Each message becomes a row in a `hours` table; ask for a total per client at month end.
